After Silicon : the move to BioComputing 1091keith You are asking an Anarchist to chose a preferable form of taxation. After Silicon : the move to BioComputing 1094 Color televisions and VCR's and the like can be bought extremely cheaply now compared to then. And even so, more often than not... Answer : Mu. Keith, you are incapable of discussing anything because you evade the arguments with bluster and name calling. Irrelevant to the issue at hand Keith, stick to the point or go shout at a wall. I'm not gonna bite. Sure Keith, starve your children to rest rather than submit to the slavery of being forced to feed them. After Silicon : the move to BioComputing 1092 On Tue, 28 Dec 2004 16:48:29 +0000, Rupert Pigott When I grew up in the 70's (born 1968... Sigh. You are on record there doing precisely that Keith, denial is a sign of weakness and dishonesty. There is no discussion about it Keith, I am an Anarchist. No, you're thinking with your head in the sand again. 1) The number of hours worked by a household have gone up while the actual income has fallen (a lot) since the 60s. 2) The productivity (adjusted for inflation) has risen, so where is the money going ? Answer : To the rich folks (you may well be one of them which would explain your endless nonsense). 3) The proportion of people in jail is rising. 4) You need substantial amounts of money to defend yourself and-or have your case heard properly and fairly (and for the vast majority of people their disposable income is falling rapidly). 5) To influence the people's government you have to have shedloads of money and intimate contacts, or alternatively you can get the press on your side - who are run by media barons such as Rupert Murdoch. 6) Plan B for taking control of your destiny : Education. You are f***ed if you don't have money (somewhat moreso than you used to be in the 60s and 70s because your earning power has plummeted since then). Game over. 7) Don't forget : You can be held indefinitely without charge these days too... Just like the Feudal lords used to do. In essence the Bill Gates, Rupert Murdochs, Larry Ellisons and the like are the new lords of the land and it's *their* power that is growing while *ours* shrinks. It is precisely that dynamic that prompted me to claim that we're heading back towards a Feudal society. Telling it how it is doesn't mean that I'm a Leftist, a Communist or a Traitor either Keith... Cheers, Rupert -- Threading sequential code through the eye of a parallel needle makes little sense. ;)
