No, he's right... How often have you seen or heard of a politico being for some legislation, but backing away from it because it will affect his campaign contributions and he needs them in order to get re-elected next year.
No, he's right on there too... education costs are skyrocketing when compared to inflation or earnings. When your pay is going up 3%-yr while inflation is going up 4-5%-yr, and education has gone up 10-20% in just the past year alone, you're screwed.

Gov'ts have always been able to do whatever the hell they wanted to with the weakest of reasons. The highest levels of our judycial system isn't appointed by the people, they're appointed by the gov't, and if you have a history of siding with the people over the gov't, you can forget about being appointed to the bench.
Methinks you confuse communism with socialism... there's nothing wrong with a little socialism in a society to insure the entire population a basic minimum standard of living... basic medical care for one...
We have some socialism going on in our country right now, this minute. Social Security is one prime example of a socialist system in use in the USA today.
