Cranky old computers still being used 97
Cranky old computers still being used 98 dogsnus as an aside, the internal network had more nodes than the arpanet-internet from just about the beginning to sometime mid-85: Debt Collection of some posts related...
Harley, having realized the need to yuppieproof their bikes a few years back, added bank angle switches that kill the motor if you lean the bike past X angle... Oh yeah, not surprisingly, they've had a few recalls on 'em. I retrofitted cruise on my Saturn - typical of GM, all the wiring's there, you just add a box and 3 switches. Typical of GM, you have to pull the steering wheel and replace the stupid airbag coil thingie, which also carries horn-cruise stuff. The wires all over the car are cheap to add, the stupid 1 foot of wire up to the wheel and the stupid 6 inches in the wheel isn't... It's a screwy setup though - there's a box under the dash with a string comming out of the side that hooks to the gas pedal at the top where the pedal yanks on the accelerator. You hear it running as the car goes along in cruise... It works (generally), but it's like everything else in a Saturn - it works, but that's about it... Even more pathetic looking are the vacuum ones with the bellows on the firewall and the pull chain on the gas. I think Ford used these until the mid '90s. It's absolutely pathetic to see this little sagging bellows suck up, pull in, then start pulling the chain running to the carb.... I don't understand auto makers at times. I know some recent GM (surprise!) car radios with black faces - it's really a black paint over WHITE plastic. Even the knobs-buttons...
