Of course, I gather Radio Shack wasn't in such great financial state when Tandy bought it, so it may not have stayed the course anyway. Forty years is a long time...

'ey, Barb! Sorry I'm so long between postings. The big heat wave finally hit Michigan for a few days, so I shut down most of my equipment for the duration (we don't have A-C), including the machine I normally run my newsreader on.

The story I read wasn't entirely clear, but I think what happened was that the guy came out of the supermarket with a lot of groceries. He left some at the entrance, brought some to his car, put them in and left the door open, and went back for the rest. The bear climbed in for the groceries already in the car and he found it when he returned.

Apparently there had been some previous reports of a bear hanging around the parking lot, but it was always gone when Animal Control showed up.

Yes, it doesn't pay to hbuttle a skunk, but if you can announce your presence without startling or scaring them, they'll usually leave peacefully, in my experience. My folks lived near Montpelior, VT for several years, and had a lot of skunks wander through the yard. But I don't recall them (or their cats) ever getting sprayed.
