I understand that. Our plant's air system first cooled the air, then heated it even in the summer. To "save" fuel costs they stopped using fresh air and just recycled the old air. But they still cooled it down then heated it. It made no sense.

Exactly. Nobody can take action locally. You'ld have to trickle the request up and wait for the permission to trickle back down. Meanwhile, people are getting contagioned. This is a job for the locals and not government regulation.

Yes. The window that was available to open was a request to the stewardess for the pilot to open the air vent and use fresh air.

But it was the whole building that got the fumes. Because the air system was a closed air system. Fumes in one small corner of the building have to be distributed throughout the rest because of the "government regs".

It wasn't 1K. 100' further inside was the machine room and they did have their own air system.

It would have given a warning and everybody some time. Telling about the problem was ignored. I'd have taken the initiative and opened all the windows. Instead I bugged out and had to leave everybody else to get drunk.

What concrete? There was a building getting built down my road. It has a center cement column about 20'x5'. I still haven't figured out what that is going to be used for. But there is no concrete any place else.

The half-million and million dollar houses built in this town need major repairs after a couple of years. I call them million dollar shacks. Particle board is not good material to use. It might last if the builders could get it covered before it rains on it but it's almost impossible to do that.
