25k?... Yerroow!. Old friend of mine died about 8 years ago, lived like a hermit, left loads of dosh. The Lawyers divided up the dosh, liquidized buttets (the big ones), and then stopped there. I was one of the two executors, and today I got a letter concerning one buttet, shares in a very good company. I am told that every solicitors1 office in the country is full of stuff that the victims find it very hard to access, every six months or so, the solicitor for this old guy hires in someone to try to finalize his estate, generally someone like a woman who is rearing childen and is trying to get some extra income by taking on these cases parttime, and then the fuss dies down for the next six months. Most people would, as I have in the case of family members, be able to finalize the affair in a month or so themselves, and by reading up. Problems arise where there may be potential disputes, in which you need someone else to blame.

It may have been $20K..I don't remember now. The rate is based on a percentage of the value of the estate. JMF...

1 Two branches in the lawyering trade here and in the UKoGBANI, solicitors, who deal with the public, and barristers who take on big cases.
