IBM Toll Collection System history 4144IBM Toll Collection System history 4146 All the ticket systems must have been before my time. I don't remember any around Chicago. I don't know about the East-West tollway as I have never been...
I have driven on both the PA and NJ toll roads. When I was on the PA pike (75-85), they used IBM sized cards with a mag stripe. I don't remember which kind of holes the card had, if any. Somewhere is the expense file, I have a receipt card from the PA pike, but I am not going to look for it. I don't remember much about the NJ turnpike. There is another toll road in NJ I hhave driven that is toss coins in the bucket to pay, but I don't remember its name. Another toll road I have been on are the two in OK along US 66, now I40. Turner Turnpike, and OK Turnpike, if I remember the names. IIRC, they both use the ticket at the entrance, pay at the exit, pay from farthest point for a lost ticket method. IBM Toll Collection System history 4145 No toll taker salary needed. In NJ the exit booths are unmanned in many locations after rush hour and prime holiday time. It remains your responsibility to insert the 35 cents in... And I have driven the toll roads here in IL, in the past. They are toss coins in the hopper every so often type pay. But, since they have decided that you either have to use their *&^%ing I-Pbutt system or pay double, never again. -- To reply by email, remove the garbage from the reply address.
