That's what I said. You want tell other people how to do the work instead of doing it yourself. Your head event is counted. Libraries try to save money. If they have a staff of 3-5 working and only one head walks through the door at a certain time over the year, it'll be closed for that day or time period. Fine. I can't teach you how to create data that counts.
Why do you think that it is difficult--because you don't get instant gratification? I don't believe this. If the person did utter these words, was this person a volunteer or paid to do the job? If paid and these words were uttered, then this person has a performance problem. The truth is that you have absolutely no idea of the use. Word95 isn't obsolete if it is still getting used. There was a guy who kept coming to the dump and throwing out all the books that he considered useless. One week I found three of these useless books outside in the rain, soaked. I would have picked them up if this f***ing idiot had not put them outside. Two of them were "obsolete" computing books written in Russian. I don't remember what the other one was, but I wept.
You are untrainable. Sigh! You see no reason to use the library's services; yet you want them to do what you think; what you think is based on no data but your preferences and your speculations based on a single observation with no testing. Yet that is how libraries choose what they will spend money on. What other ways? Making you a boss so you can feel powerful is not another way. I don't go to their meetings for personal reasons. But I found out the things I could do for them and do them. One of the things my local needs is empty 1-pound coffee cans. So I save mine, wash them in ammonia and soap and bring them to the library. Why does my address appear as part of my name 2523 Can anyone help? I have had to get rid of my former address and nick because I was getting... I'm not kidding. How in the hell can you tell what the impact they have or do not have if you don't watch what these people do? Those doddering old fools happen to be the people who pay the staff's and administrators' salaries. These employees know it. Ah, another case of not actually wanting to do the work. Have you asked your library which books they needed? Why does my address appear as part of my name 2525 Good. I will look. I am pretty sure at this point that the problem is... Have you asked if they have a procedure. You have demonstrated that you are very blind to how the library operates. You might have missed the procedure. I would buttume in a small library that the submissions would be verbal.
No one knows until you ask. BAH
