Early versions were typeset... bitnet (and earn) was an application of some of the internal network technology (but bitnet nodes weren't included in the calculation of internal network nodes) an old posting referencing startup of earn recent posting discussing some internal network characteristics some of the internal listserv evolution has been blaimed on stuff i was doing. there were some number of studies in the early 80s about what was going. one involved buttigning a researcher to study what i was doing. for 9 months they sat in the back of my office taking notes on how i communicated. they also had access to all my incoming & outgoing email and logs of all my instant messages for analysis. the study also turned into a stanford phd thesis (joint between computer ai and language depts) and material for subsequent papers and books. some discussion in collection of postings on cmc (computer mediated communication) the listserv search page doesn't list either dfsms or hsm. also the bit.listserv usenet groups (bitnet listserv groups gatewayed to usenet) doesn't indicate anything obviously dfsms-hsm. does have some listings for ADSM ... which grew up out of an internal backup-archive tool that I originally wrote doing dfsms search in google groups shows up references primarily in bit.listserv.ibm-main (ibm-main listserv group gatewayed to usenet) Determining processor status without IPIs 725 Eric P. so the cp67-mvt and the vm370-vs1 scenario they had some additional information about... --
