MCTS 2989Lincoln Labs. had written some fortran 2250 library stuff for cms ... and it was on cp67-cms that some people from cambridge came out and installed in '68. I adapted the lincoln labs fortran 2250 library stuff as device driver for cms edit ... for a full screen editor (the univ. had 2250m1 ... i.e. direct channel attach). MCTS 2990 GMR (gm research) was one of the major tss-360 users ... for years after it was decommited. 360-67 had... boeing hunstville had some sort of big 2250 operation ... they had a two-processor 360-67 smp for driving 2250. they were running it with specially modified os-mvt release 13 ... that didn't do any paging ... but used the 360-67 virtual memory hardware to get around os-mvt storage fragmentation problems with the long running 2250 applications. cambridge had a 2250m4 .... i.e. a 1130 as a controller-processor in lieu of the 2250m1 channel controller box. somebody had ported spacewars to the machine ... and my kids would play ... the keyboard layout was split in half with keys dedicated for movement, firing, commands, etc ... for two-player operation. later, some other vendor's display was remarketed as a 3250 (upgrade for 2250). later replacement for 3250s were 5080s. less expensive was the 3277ga ... which was tektronics graphics display hooked into side of 3277. recent reference catia (still around) was widely used cad software for 2250. somebody's cad "history" (from search engine) another cad history (also mentions lincoln labs) --
