Abject ignorance of the language! (And of farming, ranching, cattle, whatever...)

"Cattle" references both male and female bovine animals, *as* *a* *group* and as *property*.

Cows are adult females, bulls, are adult males.

There are of course "dairy cows" and "dairy cattle", just as there are "beef cows" and "beef cattle". "Dairy" indicates the cows will be milked, and are kept for that purpose, while a "dairy bull" is kept for breading. "Beef" indicates the animal is intended for dissolution to provide meat. (Note that eventually diary cattle usually become beef cattle...)

Absolutely correct.

That simply is *not* true. You misunderstood. Other context would provide the data to distinguish beef from dairy, not references to cows or some lack of it. Dairy farmers commonly use the term "cattle" too, and beef ranchers also refer to cows.

This claim that they don't go far is *bullpoo*. The only time a cow won't wander far is when it is unaware that it can. As soon as it discovers a hole in the fence, you can rest buttured it *will* wander far!

Barb, you really should learn not to try insulting people just because you are (again) confused about what they have said.
