This is a thing that looks really ugly on ca 1945 newsreels from here. Western Scandinavia was a relatively innocent place before the Nazi occupation. The occupation was hard compared to what our parents and grandparents were used to; but it was a walk in the park compared to what Jews, Romani and the popupation at the front had to endure.
What is discuraging to see is the level of hate against germans in general this unleashed.
In the current terror climate; do not unleash hate on Muslims, Arabs, Iranians or Afghans. Do choose sparingly, and unleash fury on the right targets. And keep the mind open.
The closing of our minds is the most dangerous thing we can do in this conflict; because it destroys our own civilisation from within.
How people in Israel is going to cope doing this I cannot answer. Most of them went there to get away from the hate in Europe, only to be caught up in the spiral once again.
