Microcomputers As A Space Spinoff 3849There were an abundance of reports of just how miserable life (and rest) was under these dictators. The way the (then, mostly liberal) press behaved when they got that news is one of the darker chapters of western civilisation. The papers that unrelentingly presented what, in posterity, was the truth was chastigated as reactionary war mongereres. They did so with considerable personal risk too. Hitler started his gas chambers in 1939, and had them in full swing in february 1942. By May 1942 the western press had all necessary facts to print a story, triple verified. Silence. Had they printed they would at least have warned the Jews of Norway and Holland, and could have saved a great many of them. The apparatus for transport of refugees was in place; there was just so scant warning about what was about to happen. We needed a constructive lunatic like Winston S Churchill to bring the message about Hitler forward. The message about Lening&Stalin was even worse. A large part of the intelligentsia fell for the crap, and actively sabotaged the spread of the truth. The Khmer Rouge & Pol Pot filled a power vacuum left by a US losing the Vietnam war. This was was lost at home, with the liberal media a principal cause. They couldn't handle the fog of war and the communist propaganda. Iraq starts to sound the same way. We listen far to intently to the islamists. Mr Bush is in fact president of one of the top 15 muslim countries; one that almost all the muslims or their immediate family chose to immigrate to. He should get some respect for that. (Yep, the US ranks 14th or 15th counting the number of people representing themselves as muslims. The vast majority of those are 1st or 2nd generation Americans.).
