We used to display the Meiko next to a Cray 1, the ETA-10, CM and Paragon. But the Meiko (which came from my college long after I left just appears like another rectangular box it's in dark storage). Almost 100 firms down the tubes. I need to get a Myrias for the Museum. A smaller number of European and a growing number of Asian firms exist. And Australian and Indian (had Elxsi access, have photos). Need to collect, too. And I talk with other foreign governments about this for developing industries. They all want to try to copy Silicon Valley.

The CM was nothing w-o the Data Vault. But I didn't have to deal with it. Do have to find a DV.

First movers make mistakes. It's how a firm deals with mistakes. Some solutions are open only to certain people. You could have put NTSC-PAL-SECAM.

It's a system. I've spoken with Backus (a very nice guy if you get a chance to meeting him). The big single word which characterizes the computer industry is: neglect. And we will never really know with consistency what way to go without attempting.
