Old cars 1800"Reunite Gondwanaland (Mary Shafer)" Mate's Saturn had the a-c rebuilt and replaced 3 or 4 times, under the extended warranty. 1st replacement "paid" for the warranty. Ditto the a-c repair on my van. The 2 Sebrings we currently own ('99 and '01) haven't had any -major- issues, aside from mate's car being rear-ended (and that wasn't a warranty issue). I did have the rear pbuttenger window completely replaced, guts and all, as the working went wonky. The only thing I was irritated with re the warranty on my current car (the '01) was when the driver's visor (has garage door opener built in) had a short - under the original warranty, no less - and the damn thing is listed as NOT under warranty. Even hollering about the fact that it was the electronics that failed didn't help (the dealership did the yelling for me). Dealership cut me a break, and I didn't pay for any diagnostics (6 hours of fiddling to ascertain the problem, as so many systems were affected) and they wrote up the ticket so that other affected systems were the cause, and therefore covered. Out of a potential $1200 in repairs, I paid $298.+ change. I wasn't thrilled, but was glad that the other $1k wasn't tacked on. Old cars 1801 So what was the odometer reading? When did this happen? Last Week? Two months after delivery? Basic, Extended, or Aftermarket Contract? It's impossible to... I did pay for the extended warranty on my new washer-dryer (asko) as I spent enough to justify the extra coverage - and the total coverage was extended to 7 years, up from the standard 3 on the units. -- TeaLady (mari) Sunshine is not conducive to the efficient work environment.
