Yup. Also a TOPS-10 software developer type. He was a nice guy, pretty bright. But he's still on my poo list for not consulting anybody in Tape Prep about the keyboard layout of that TTY. The computing biz is still suffering from that momentary lapse in data entry gear evolution.

Duct tape the glbutt so he couldn't see. You will note that he wouldn't have this frustration point if he'ld been working on a TOPS-10 machine, video TTY, and TECO...and CREF.
Of course. And having to "wait" for that listing to find the stupid bugs is even more frustrating. That's why card deck processing never lasted more than the ramp time to learn TECO. You get an instant response (comparatively) for all the obvious typo bugs at a TTY with your COMPILE command. So you get rid of the obvious within a single sitting and get to work on the stuff that you're really getting paid to do.
