McDonalds has changed their colors. Now there's no way I can find one just by scanning the horizon. PDP1 3535 over I'll buy that. When I used to do plastic modeling, there were some applications where you'd finish the joining with heavy paper after...
IIRC, 5.04 was a vertible disaster and caused all kinds of changes in the processes that had "ship it" as an end point. I wasn't in the group at the time (John Everett was) but it apparently was so bad, enough people got embarbutted to the point of agreeing to the handcuffing procedures. It also started the -10 group to use each week's edit. The rules evolved to, if the edit didn't run, the first priority was to fix those bugs before going on to the next development step. We spend many years and SPRs and stuff to evolve a process that would solve problems in house and out house and get software to ship with the new hardware on time. We were in the hardware business, not software. We even figured out how to manage a development cycle so that all documentation shipped with the software in the same box. This is not easy to do. BAH
