Hi Charles & NG,

After I posted my message of yesterday, I found this great little web site: www.dtss.org . It contains two small jewels. First is a simulator (for both Windows and Mac) of the original DTSS system. This is the very earliest version so don't look for "modern" additions like the CHANGE statement :). I typed in some of my programs, circa 1966, and they ran fine! Second, and this is the key for me, there is a wonderful article by Nancy Broadhead from 1974, "Reminiscences of DTSS" about Pioneer Day. Several original users-creators describe the system and tell stories. Total length is about one hour. It is two MP3 files and a transcript in .pdf format. The following list of names came from the transcript:

John Kemeny Thomas Kurtz John McGeachie Mike Busch Steve Hobbs Dave McGill Ron Martin Kevin O'Gorman privates Lacy Greg Dobbs Jerry Weiner George Detlefsen Sidney Marshall Neil Wiedenhofer Robert Hargraves

Sarr Blumson added Art Luehrmann as a person working on a history of DTSS. Now that I have some names, I can follow up on some of their stories. Of the above list of names I only knew (and not very well) four personally: Kemeny, Kurtz, Dobbs, and Marshall.

Any one who can add names and-or stories would contribute to my knowledge and enjoyment.

Cheers,
