Have you seen any of the Chevy Chase "Vacation" movies? 1) Things didn't go nearly that well. 2) Next time he says, "I'm Chevy Chase, and you're not." I can reply, "Yes I am."

The truck was a day late and 90 miles from where I should have picked it up (Yes, I knew better than to use uhaul, but I needed the trailer).

The *second* time it broke down, it ended up in a repair depot for a week and I had to fly back with little brother and offload some wait to a Penske. (Who ever heard of a transmission selector lever falling apart??? That, of course, meant going down the rockies ina 24' truck with a 12'trailer unable to downshift--which smoked the brakes (though I think the rear only had to be reground instead of replaced. The first breakdown was when it tossed the trailer on the second day, after a thousand miles. The tech concluded that the hitch couldn't have come off unless the ball was too small . . .)

Arriving at 3:30 A.M. and expecting to toss matresses on the floor, we couldn't Not just the floor but the walls were moving. Even in the bedrooms.

Arizona Charlie's has a wonderful rate for locals. Most of the week we spent there was at $39-night for a suite.

Fortunately, little brother could come back, bringing parents with him. The first thing they did was rip out the *entire* carpet, which had been rplaced less than three years ago. Apparently she went a year and a half without vaccuuming; even the pad was infested.

Anyway, we're now in, and family comes back tomorrow for another couple of days helping with repairs, and we've had carpet for a few days.

By the time we're done, we'll probably have gone through most of the $13k line of Credit Debt at home depot.

And meanwhile, if anyone knows someone who needs an attorney-economist-statistician-programmer in Las Vegas . . . :)
