Sort. My newsreader collects things by sorting on newsgroup, subject header, followups. He can followup the Hertz comment with his own post, snipping out all the crap, and all the followups to his followup will get collected within in sub-sub-subbin. If, and I mean IFF, the drift becomes more than a temporary sub-discussion, then you change the subject line. This not unsimilar to people deciding that another meeting should be arranged to concentrate on the new sub-discussion.
