But they're afraid, or unable, to speak out. I figured as much. Pat Robertson certainly has said some extreme things, but he hasn't quite crossed the line to advocating violence, as well. Yes, he does. But his is more directed at individuals. He isn't a nice person. A big difference. The First Amendment. In the US yes. Other places have something they claim is it, but they seem to violate it often. Islam is a religion that spread itself by "fire and sword", but it is Yes I know. For Muslims to voluntarily adopt pluralistic government is to violate one of the basic tenets of their religion. This is not the case for Christians, which is why America had religious freedom long before the mainstream churches became secularized and political correctness was invented. Well, the perception is the US had religious freedom always. But that isn't true. Some religious groups, came to the colonies, so they could practice relgious intolerance. Anyone living in their colony had to practice the same version of Christianity they did. And they persuaded the captain of the Mayflower to land at Plymoth. Many of the other pbuttengers were headed for Virginia. They were very upset about being... shanghied, but there was nothing they could do about it. Of course not all Muslims are persons, or even bad people. But even if rising prosperity and education buttist the growth of moderate forces in the Muslim world, there are organic characteristics of Islam that mean that progress towards pluralism will be more difficult there than it was within the Christian world.
