The 8008 1745On Mon, 1 Aug 2005 16:37:23 +0000 (UTC), David Scheidt I asked you to name one. I, my friends and members of my immediate family, owned more than twelve vehicles all built before that date which were ALL negative ground. They included four Vanguards before 1960, Morris Minor (First model with low headlights), Renault (Small, can't remember the model just that it had that confounded electric clutch), Willys Overland Whippet (several 1928, 1929, 1930), Chevrolet Capital 1925, Nash Rambler 1938 & 1940, Ford V8 1939, Ford Prefect, Morris Major 1963 and 1965. Volkswagen Van 1963. I did most of the mechanical work on the above cars so I am talking from experience. Now add all Holden (GM) cars and Ford cars built in Australia prior to that date. Some were six volt but many were twelve volt. The 8008 1747 That's an incredibly fascinating topic. I stand corrected on the notion that you need a couple hundred volts or more to drive the plates on a vacuum tube amplifier. Indeed, this... In fact I think you have your concept backwards. After '63 many cars were positive earth until sometime in the seventies when safety regulations became tougher and most manufacturers reverted back to the simpler negative earth scenario. Now I challenge you to name one again or admit that you are simply waffling without a clue. But we also have lots of yuppies, and lots of snob... -- David Remove "farook" to reply At the bottom of the application where it says "sign here". I put "Sagittarius"
