Well there is plenty of hydrogen there and extracting it is easy with PV cell powered electrolysis. Pity about the costs involved.

But only if you can run cables, electricity is notoriously hard to store in suitable quanbreasties for cars. Perhaps running cables down main streets and highways is the best answer with smallish batteries to run the car away from the cables.

Certainly for all purposes other than aitomotive.

That's OK the entire cycle is a great deal more efficient than using photosynthesis to make plants, decomposition to turn them into oil, pumping it up and distilling it before burning it.

Don't need one while there's a nice big fusion generator running nearby radiating all it's output to the great heat sink.

Last I checked there still wasn't a fusion reactor that produced noticably more energy than it took to run.

Neutrons don't respond to magnetic fields because they aren't electromagnetically charged. The former Soviet Union built...

Orbiting solar power stations beaming microwaves could go a long way - in the longer term solar powered masers at around the orbit of Mercury would be a powerful source of concentrated energy. In the long term the entropy will get us if we last long enough.
