The 8008 1765
So why did Jaworowski make the statement in 2004?
Indeed it does state that. It confirms the existence of UHI. But UniMelb says that UHI do influence the temperature data. They say that this is not evidence that the climate has remained unchanged. All it says is that the UHI influences the temperature data. UniMelb (IIRC) also deals with specific factors that incluence with the intensity of the UHI such as prevailing winds, structures (shading, reflection, heat-sink).
Are you talking about specific carbon molecules? See what a green "poster boy" had to say:
No. Not directly.
The Mann who inially refused to publish details of his algorithm? And who is still reticent to allow other to see the raw data? M&M used Mann's method on numerous random data sets and came up with a number of "hockey stick" curves very much like Mann's published data.
Mann's reconstruction will almost always come up with a hockey-stick curve, no matter what you throw at it (within reason). The 8008 1767 I gave cites in the "earlier post". I'll try again. I A useful approach is to examine deep history with Antarctic ice... More importantly, neither M&M's corrected curve 1 nor Mann's has statistical significance. M&M admit that. Specific discussion of the points being address at:
In Jaworowski's statement - figure 2
But the climate cooled with higher CO2 levels. M&M certainly have convinced quite a few of their colleagues. The 8008 1766 snip-- you may wish to ask him... a) Regarding the heat island effect: current research exhibits no difference in the global temperature trends when the heat island effect is accounted for I do... Minor point: To show causality; one must have much more than a statistical correlation and present a possible mechanism. Based on what is a known causality of the total greenhouse effect; including the majority of it being due to water vapour, then the focus on 0.1% of it in anthropegenic CO2 looks like an incredibly foolish pursuit. Trying to sweep what looks like a 400-yearly climate cycle under the carpet makes one suspicious of those wielding the broom and the type of broom being used. And we should be suspicious of everything that is published. Regardless of agreement or otherwise with what's presented. -- "Bernd Felsche - Innovative Reckoning, Perth, Western Australia ASCII ribbon campaign I'm a .signature virus!
