The 8008 1769Sorry, been away for the last two days. I'll try to summarize a few things here as my newsreader won't quote that last post I'm following up here anyway. OK, I'm not professionally into ecology, climate-weather research or any related professions. I watch and observe (e.g. the weather in my own region). I cannot offer scientific proof that the recently experienced warmings, storms et al. are really man-made or "just" long cycles that would happen anyway. I agree with one poster that said we'd have to adapt to whatever is coming to us, man-made or natural. Now my original posts were about consumer behaviour, perceived changes in the ecosystems and the US government's role in global processes. Let's just review what I've been called in the follow- ups to my last post: "true-believer types", "global warming hucksters", "environmental nutters (and their useful idiots)" (whichever I'm meant to be, enough name-calling now.) I'm about to bring an "end to the free enterprise system," ... erm ... how should taking care of nature take us back to the age of hunters and gathererers? In this post I'm probably also one of the "liberal Democrat wackos" which is quite impossible Thanks, Roger! Another poster made out that I'm "... listening too much to people who want to destroy US production." Now that is interesting, because the poster wants to keep the industry-production where it is today - I think that improving the industrial production process to be environmentally friendly is actually helping the economy. There's no need to fear the old industrial lobbies - new ones will form. In another post,BAH wrote "People keep throwing Kyoto in faces whenever they wish to denigrate US production; I have yet to hear any of these idiots speak about the billions, who burn wood and coal for cooking and heating, curbing their contributions to this global warming." Once again I'm called an idiot - thank you - because I didn't adress an issue that just wasn't up then. Now ... do I need to explain the difference between burning fossile and recent fuels? Your heated answers to my posts sound remarkably like bad consciousness or another bout of "don't-mess-with- God's-own-country-sickness". Robert in "Old Europe" and proud of it. P.S. I had originally subscribed to this group because I meant to ask about any information, software, stories ... any of you might have about the NCR DMV computer. I have set up a yahoo group to collect this information. The 8008 1770 He doesn't. However, it is important to remember that the notion of human-caused "global...
