Animal emissions are pretty easy to calculate. Yes, China is a third world country just on the edge of breaking through to decent living conditions. When they do they will consume as much energy as the US and half the EU. snip Now, fortunatly, the oil price has edged up in just the right phase of a business cycle. This means we got a decade or two to adapt and build the toolchain that will be needed for a sustained energy production. First get to 15% of the total, than that can be scaled up. Now, the US is forced to adapt. The $4 on the pump will see to that. It won't go away. -- mrr
