The 8008 1786Lake Hula (sp?), famous example of a swampy lake in what is now Northern Israel, reclaimed, first few years wonderful crops, now having to be abandoned. Carefull about the grew nothing, there is a constant theme to both the Nobody", all right until one discovered that the present 'owners occupiers' have very fuzzy breastles, the original breastles having been destroyed along with the Armenians that lived and farmed the area), and Israel, where there is a constant and spurious (mostly) claim , that the land was idle before the creation of the Israeli state. In Palestine (or whatever you want to call it), breastle to land was enmeshed in a complicated set of landlords , sublandlords, and tenants. There are enough examples of sites being taken over by the Israeli army, whatever grew there was bulldozed to clear lines of fire, then the land being 'returned' to Israeli settlers. The Palestinians didn't grow a lot of the crops that the Israelis do, they had no market for them. Established olive groves are fairly resistant to drought, and were growing long before even the Turks arrived. In much the same area, in Northern Syria, there is a whole area that once supplied olives and olive oil (or Oyl!) to the Byzantine Empire. After the Muslims took over Syria, Byzantium stopped buying that product, and the area was abandoned, the houses are still there with roofs fallen in, just as the owners left. There was probably a climate change as well, as does happen every few years anyway. The 8008 1791 I don't think I can do a better treatment than Dave's in twenty-five words, but if you're still interested... Yup. One shudders at the people who will make the decisions. When I mow the lawn, I just leave the grbutt there. The problems we used have with daisies, etc, have disappeared. Or maybe its just rainier. I was in a job yonks ago, the Boss used say that it almost made him cry to see cars, etc, burning up fuel that would far more profitibly be used in his processes. The economics may have changed. The factory made feedstuffs! for the plastics industry Get the protesters to pay for some of the hbuttle. If someone objects to something here, right so, but you pay a deposit against the builders expenses, Which has not been adjusted for a while. Dosn't stop the real nutcases, or people with a good reason. It can be hard to tell the difference sometimes, but there is a difference.
The 8008 1787 Amazed ato how fast this debate went into mud-slinging. It remains the most important challenge facing humanity. Nope; or you're... Then it will be extracted somewhere else. A local enterprising!
North Korea!... (I don't think that there will be many protesters)
They won't care. Most don't work, and would be smart enough to keep away from angry truckers. I remember headlines that said something like "Whoops, there goes our money", something about a power company in Washington State?
Contradictions?.. Here's one. People were worried about the International supply of corn, because N.O. was flooded. Right?.. Well, there is a LACK of water, the Missisippi is very low, and barges are being limited to 70% of their usual loads. -- greymaus
