the rich Didn't you say "kicking and screaming"? ;-) I read about Tiberias at supper yesterday. I had this atbreastude. Then I started trying to find out what these people did. I'm still trying to find...

Growing up in Brooklyn instills one with a rather accurate bullpoo detector, it has stood me in good stead. My problem always was that I DID know when they were lying, and the structure of the environment always forced me to shut up and take it, while the frustration mounted to nearly intollerable levels.

Just the names. Can you imagine it.

I didn't attend the meetings, past the first one, I just sat and watched as these idiots did mortal combat in what amounted to NOTHING more than a privates measuring contest. It has always been my humble opinion that those how engage in these contests do so because their privatess (ego-wise) are particularly small. We won't even broach the subject of the balls :)

I remember once I was on a project in Terrytown, New York to build an interface into VM-PROFS to handle meetings. This was an ISPF-VM gig, with me and one other person (close friend) working on it. We were there 4 weeks and were told to attend a meeting. When all the attendees were present, I did a fast head count and noted that there were 13 people at the meeting. Before anyone could say a word, I asked who the 11 other people were (not counting me and the other coder) and was told it was the management team. It took 20 minutes before the meeting could proceed as I was in appoplectic fits of laughter at the concept of having an 11 person management team to manage the 2 coders. And here I though this was limited to IBM :)
