I read about Tiberias at supper yesterday.

I had this atbreastude. Then I started trying to find out what these people did. I'm still trying to find out how a country gets run. But you do have the advantage of knowing all about all kinds of politics if you grew up in that area.

Once upon a time, the training they received was how run public works projects.

That's why they are very bad politicians. Kerry has 0% political instinct.

Mbuttachusetts is trying that. It's not a complete success w.r.t. the day to day political stuff. Our governor was a CEO. We didn't see any evidence of these skills until the Big Dig broke. Then he knew how to take charge, who to buttign, how to give status reports to the public, etc.

I think this is called statesmanship. We don't breed these anymore. I also think that this is caused by complacency. We've become disinterested in politics because our lives haven't depended on who's voted in since WWII. Voters are started to change. The politiicans will change about 10 years later. My time scale may be off a tad.
