I'd rather have had the Democrats vote against the war that vote for it only to spend every minute since then complaining about it. In any case, that vote was based on bogus information (WMDs that have not yet been found after 3 years) but which was a good dead anyway (for reasons of removing a brutal dictator from power). Lastly, war is usually the worst example, as no one wants to be viewed as soft.
And yet, there will NEVER come a day when the rights of homoloveuals are considered while Repoublicans are in office, nor the day when this obsolete Welfare system (read slavery) is challenged by a Democratic majority. Yes, you oft times see one or 2 members cross the party line, but you never see the PARTY cross the party line, which would be true bi-partizanship. A concept I could not disagree with more if I spent a lifetime trying. A bill, a law, a resolution should be forced to stand on its own merrits, not be allowed to proceed simply because it is appended like a wart to something everyone wants and isn't willing to kill just to kill IT. This could never be more true than it is in the field of appropriations.
