I've dealt with politicians, admittably Irish ones, and all too often seen that look come into their eyes that means, `I can't do that, it has already been decided'.. Then you go through the formula of being polite (remembering that if you arn't, you will meet the same people again, in an area where they CAN make decisions).. and go back to your people, knowing damn well that you can't really tell them the true position either, or it will be brought back again (Well, anyone who has dealt with politicians will know what I mean)..

Most babies that I have dealt with are anxious to get trained.. I remember one potential captain-of-industry that was bulls******g the boys, and a lady whispered to me that nudge nudge , his bedclothes had to be changed every morning nudge.. Partly true, as you write, N.O. has problems going way back. Its all a propaganda thing, the anti-Bupooes and the people who didn't do their jobs will blame Bush, and from seeing how he operates, most people will agree... even if there are extenuating circs. in that case.
