Demo'ed and rebuilt a new wall in the kitchen to increase the width by 2' making a new layout possible. Moved doorways, etc.. Upstairs, deleted walls of two incovienent closets, incorporating the volumes into the buttociated bedrooms and rebuilt the wall of one room to increase its volume. Removed a hallway wall to add the space to the front room. Entirely gutted the upstairs bathroom, redid from top to bottom- new floor, new shower framing (increased length by 2"), tiled entire shower. Recovered closed in & wasted volume behind shower for use as closet openning into master bedroom. Fixed a variety of sins left by the original builders in (1927) from wiring to framing both structural and cosmetic. Improved venting and system balance of the steam radiators. Not that I presume to either- but having been under the foot of my wife with her trying to flog along the renovations I can appreciate the reluctance... So if BAH wants to obsess about hardware cloth vs screen, thats fine but that is not a significant part of the problem of fixing up the fascia and related woodwork on the roof to make squirrel-proofing possible. If she wants a job thats good enough so it won't need redoing in a couple decades, she is in for a lot of work & money. Gregm
