The Pankian Metaphor 3178On Tue, 18 Apr 2006 19:19:47 +0200, Morten Reistad AFAIK, the `Young Turks' held power from before WWI.. The old regime may have had a shadow existance, but the young officers were in control, and took the decisions. The Turks are continuing to destroy any relics of the Armenian community. The Kurdish community was used to do a lot of the `liquidations', as the Ukranians were used by the Nazis, and are now coming under pressure themselves. One can be jailed in Turkey for printing some characters that are used by the Kurdish dialects... The absence of the Armenians is one of the problems in Iraqi Kurdistan, on a lot of estates, breastle is very confused as the pretense is made that the Armenians never existed. Remember, the Turks were never defeated in WWI, `arrangements' were made for the Allies to deal with what was still a very strong army, all down through the ages since they arrived from Central Asia, the Turks have been formidable soldiers, as the Greeks found out in another sad episode. Politics make strange bedfellows, nowadays the Turks and Israelis are allies, and some Israeli politicians are denying that the Armenian genocide happened.............
