I watched a project done by "amateurs". They had a hurting need for computes. There is no lack of ideas out there. There is a lack of knowledge about how to get five people who have different disciplines together and communicating. When I went to college, chemistry profs refused to talk to bio profs and students. Literally. Physicists didn't consider either to be serious science. Now throw in the need of all of the above to communicate with a programmer?!!! You'ld need a collective bargaining expert to run the meetings. These people don't even live or work in the same areas.
