You righht, I have always wondered about that piccy. I think it must be wrongly labeled. However the cabinets containing the store were huge. If you look at

On Mon, 31 Jan 2005 10:57:54 -0800, glen herrmannsfeldt I was a SysProg at a company in Denver that was an "early adopter" (circa. 1971) of the Itel drives on a Sys-360...

You can cleary see two of the four storage units behind the CPU, and just make out the other two almost directly behind the CPU and channel box. At this time the machine had 512K so each "box" must be 128K so the piccy can't be correct!. Later the store was expanded to 1024k and the machine was moved across the room to make way for the extra two banks (four cabinets) of store. I only ever got to operate the 67 on a couple of Saterday Mornings. I can't remember why, it must have been because some package or other I needed was not available "on line" and I needed to mount my own pack or tape.

run.

Are you sure the 512K was all in one cabinet. Looking at the piccy above I would have expected four.

I didn't know Harwell also had a 67. I know Manchester City council had a special order Honeywell L66-60 in I think Orange. I think at the time they chose it because it had no political affiliation.... I also heard thet IBM salesmen had a set of "color cards" should you want to choose a non-blue machine but I have never seen any so perhaps these are real "folklore"
