It was just enough like ED to make you feel at home, and just different enough to ensure that you'd hurt yourself on a regular basis. Things have just gone downhill from there. Nowadays, if I need to do editing on an MS-DOS or Windows system, I use KEDIT. It's not perfect, but I've learned to live with it. And I've learned enough of vi that when I switch from a Linux box to a DOS-Windows box, I'll often see a line of j's appear on the screen if I'm trying to move down in a file. Still, when it comes to editor choices, IMHO nothing beats CygnusEd on my Amiga. Unfortunately, I doubt I'll see a port to any other OS. Maybe it's time to look into the Amiga emulators that are out there... -- I'm really at ac.dekanfrus if you read it the right way. X Top-posted messages will probably be ignored. See RFC1855.
