Thou shalt have no other gods before the ANSI C standard 1377
On Sun, 13 Feb 2005 05:58:16 -0800, Tom Linden They usually do. Our experience in Ireland would go this way. In the 1979-89 period, there was a cash crises in the country. Medical schools were short of cash, the foreign students were willing to pay. In one recent year, in one school, about 80% of the students were foreighners. In other words, the medical schools, established and paid by local taxpayers, are educating foreighners. Governments usually finish up acting in a manner completely opposite to what they intended. They decided to universify (!nice word) nursing training. Ireland used to supply the whole world with well trained, caring nurses. There are NO nurses qualifying this year (The new course is a year or more longer). Lots of well trained, caring Philipino and Melasian nurses available. The Irish girls, who want to nurse, now either go to some other job, or train in England, which retains an older system. Rant, Rant. During the French revolution, in parts of France, the gillotine wasn't speedy enough, so they loaded boats with `enemys of the State' (well tied up), and sank them. I have a vision of that happenning to a modern State, with politicians that people despise, and as the boats sink, there would be a chorus of (`I'm glad you raised that point', `Let me clarify that remark', `You can't prove anything', `I made no personal gain') coming from the holds. Trouble is, that would leave us with the Provos......... Thou shalt have no other gods before the ANSI C standard 1378 says... Technically he was correct, and the good news it is very easy to achieve the same goal, without using calloc and avoid the issue entirely. If it can be fixed, and... -- greymaus 97.025% of statistics are wrong
