Thou shalt have no other gods before the ANSI C standard 1530different I've never been sure how to respond to "so?" in any context. It usually indicates that the other person has no idea whatsoever what my objection is. When that happens, I've often found ("based on my personal experience") after a long and difficult exhange that we'd miscommunicated some fundamental concept very early in the conversation, long before the "so?" came up. This feels like one of those cases. Let's move on for the moment and see if we can get past it. conclusion, I didn't say "final conclusion," although I can see how you'd have buttumed that. It could be "tentative." Or, as you intimate here... ... the conclusion could be "I don't have a clue what he's talking about, but he seems to know his stuff." And this might lead me to do what I say at the end of this message (what I meant to say at the end of the original). saw, Perhaps. The word "evidence" has been beat to hell in the last few years due to all the legal and forensics shows on TV. I also see that I dropped a couple of lines after the last one you quoted. These MAY have helped with the "so?" above (or may be not) Thou shalt have no other gods before the ANSI C standard 1531 YES!!! My apologies. I'm still trying to learn how write as well as you guys do. Sure. But those comments will only mean something to a maintainer of the code. IOW, s-he has read... I'd originally typed: The "expert" level may be so persuasive that I will verify little or nothing and will take what they say as said. As others have stated, or implied, in an education or work environment, you have to spend some of your time learning or working. Sorry for the editing screw up. - Bill
