It is a shame that US politics has degraded to the point where it is so severely polarized. I remember when I used to visit the US as a kid a long time ago and there was light hearted banter between Democrats and Republicans. The news used to talk about what was good for America, not just spew some political party propaganda.

I have little opinion regarding US politics, not being a citizen (much of my family has dual citizenship, I refused it). My opinion of the Iraq war was that it moved the focus from hunting persons to rebuilding a country that was none of our business to rebuild and was happy that Canada stayed out of it, though I believe we should have been more tactful about it as the US is our closest ally and deserved at least that.

women who represent the best their society has to offer. But I see it as a bit morbid to post a roll call in order to make some political statement. I am sure that to their families there is only one name that counts on the list and exploiting their grief for political gain or to make a point is a sad commentary on the state of the US political system.

It has been very disheartening to see the US degrade to petty bickering over the last 30 or so years and even more so to see the free press co-opted by the political interests of both sides.
