Play a little fair. Saddam went after rebels himself and he didn't play nice doing so. Result: A nation that was under control and slowly becoming the beacon of the Middle East before we smashed it to pieces.

The more recent "mbutt graves" happened as a direct result of US actions directly after the 1st Gulf War. We encouraged the Shiites to openly rebel against Saddam, promising them aid... then stopped. So Saddam did what he normally does to regain control: He utterly smashed the insurgency. It worked. The older incident of gbutting the Kurds happened while US had good relations with Saddam. The Kurds rebelled, Saddam stopped them quickly. He had to do it quick because he was at war with Iran. And we sent someone there to congratulate him after he gbutted the Kurds.

The US has proven to do the same thing with rebels. Remember Waco? That was just a minor incident of "civil disobedience." Imagine what would happen if the Mexicans in California ever want independence. We'll send in the National Guard and smash them to bits.

I'm saying we do the same thing. Unleash Prometheus upon them, scatter them into rat-holes and put fear in their hearts, instead of punishing soldiers for following orders or trying to defend themselves.

If we do not, the insurgency will grow, more Iraqi civilians and Coalition personell will die. The situation will eventually get out of control, we'll pull out and Iraq will decend into a bloody civil war, with the probable result of breaking up into 3 independent provinces.
