If you choose to dwell in reality there are several countries with WMD and person bases. They are called Pakistan (Nuclear, likely chemical, possibly biological) and Sudan (chemical weapons have been used on the rebels and there were(are?) Al Quada training camps located there), and don't even get me started on our new good friend Libya.

The US has intervened in internal affairs of many Muslim and Middle Eastern Countries, including, but not limited to Israel, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Lebanon, and Egypt. The US has an amazingly back record of "backblast" from supporting puppet regimes either from popular revolt (Iran), change in political alliances (Iraq... remember when they were our buddy? Wasn't that long ago), and things are not looking good for the US if the House of Fahd goes the way of the Shah.
