An exact duplicate is going to be impossible from one batch to the next. The ingredients will never be in the exact same condition, etc. You can measure all you like; you will still need some "closed loop" control to fine-tune both the process of cooking, flavour and appearance.

If you cook something so bad that you'll never want to do it again you'll probably remember what you did wrong without having to document it. :-)

One of the most useful things I learnt "recently" was that humans cannot distinguish more than 3 to 5 simultaneous "flavours". Different people will possibly pick up different flavours from the same food, so if you want consistent flavour; KISS.

Trouble is; people usually rip off the labels as soon as they're out of sight.
