Sorry to follow-up to myself, but I see I didn't finish. The SS keyin shows some basic performance information, but not what I'd need to come to any meaningful conclusions about system load. It just points to a few interesting items which could point to performance bottlenecks like the number of transactions-second being processed in TIP.

I strongly suspect that there is no process-load-related slowdown at all on the box, and that the CPU's clock is the limiting factor for compiles these days. The DEV box is rarely under any load.

My original comment was intended to show that even 40-50 folks doing comcurrent compiles has no discernible impact on a modern OS2200 box. I didn't mean it to sound like I thought it was a big deal. It isn't at all -- we're only talking about 50 low-priority DEMAND users, and that doesn't represent much load on the system at all.
