Very slow booting and running and braindead OS's 4530
THat's easy. You have kids. You have friends. You forget some gear and need to buy some instead of going all the way back home. They offered to repair my gloves for me. I didn't think it was worth the price of a new pair of gloves. However, if there had been none with cuffs available, I would have let them sew my gloves up. They just opened a new branch in Mbutt. We'll see if they stay in business. But it isn't going to be. When people start using these things for serious stuff like money, it will enver be "cheaper" to replace hardware when all your data just got released in that magic puff of gray smoke coming out of the side port hole. Or when you hire a new ISP, you have to use the currently accepted software levels...whatever the hell that means these days. There isn't any definition of software levels anymore. But not disks and, more importantly, modems with lights. I haven't one those magic thrift shops you guys keep talking about. Very slow booting and running and braindead OS's 4532 It is not ugly or inelegant. You take cheap hardware, and throw the book on it in terms of good protocol... I have a friend who had to keep relearning micpoo's word processer because one of the members in his working group kept upgrading. In order for the rest of the group to get the work done, they also had to upgrade in order to read the docs because micpoo's policy is to break their old software. Very slow booting and running and braindead OS's 4531 For mission-critical stuff, you build in redundancy. I can pay a lot of dollars for a system that will... Now think about banking. BAH
