Warming Earth Just cool it

With "fifty-year storms" becoming annual events, I have a modest proposal.

Thirty years ago, global warming was almost unheard of but there was much talk of a possible Nuclear Winter. The planet would be cooled by atmospheric dust if man deployed his thermonuclear explosives.

What's wrong with the idea of countering undesired warming with deliberate cooling? Couldn't a few H-plants, if placed optimally, be used as triggers to unleash a big volcano or two?

(Sorry if this puzzle is OT in this NG, but I think practical scientific expertise may be higher here than in some of the "more appropriate" unmoderated sci newsgroups.)

I have a hunch why such a "cool" plan would be a bad idea (it's *not* radioactive fallout), but want to hear from experts.

PS: Yes, the question is of only hypothetical interest, as the best-paid scientists in the Land of the Free(tm) now know that Global Warming is atheist nonsense like Darwin's infamous heresy. (BTW, I don't get Fair and Balanced News overseas and am stuck with propaganda by radical rationalists. Has Karl Rove pinned Hurricane Katrina on Saddam, or was it al-Qaeda? I know Imam Robertson attributes it to God's vengeance against a modern-day Sodom; is *that* the unofficial White House position?)
