She's got all the hardware she needs...

An 800mhz PIII should be a reasonable Linux box.

If she needs more I'll send it. I just raided a number of equivalent boxes from a dumpster. Isn't windows running modern business wasteful.

This is why pagers and mobile phones can have email sent to them. There are, of course...

Actually, these were FreeBSD and Linux development boxes for a dead networking firm. Building management dumped them when they leased the area. I pulled the motherboards and some parts and rebuilt a small farm of boxes (some of which will run PDP11 and VAX stuff under SimH). 8-(

killall -KILL firefox Seriously; the degradation happens pretty gracefully as it swaps more and more. Then, if you don't address the issue it...

Right now she needs less time arguing with a guy who's too sure of himself to do some homework and some research on stuff he thinks he knows but doesn't.

Linux is not the be-all and end all. Neither is Unix -- although I make a living with Solaris, Linux and Windows now I sure have a soft spot for the old DEC10's and PDP's and I LOVE the old VAX-VMS of the 4.2 days.

Love to see an early 8600 VMS cluster running again.

I'd also have liked to see SysV up on the HSC and such at AT&T. Too bad I never had the chance to see it before it was end.
