Well, perhaps in your corner of the biz, you have the luxury of tests already in existence. We didn't. Part of a project in our biz was to also develop stuff that would do the testing.

Think about that. Now only were we developing stuff for a user, we also had to figure out how to detect when it wasn't working. This means that we defined what "wasn't working" meant.
