What ever happened to Tandem and NonStop OS 2005(Eric Chomko) writes: Hmm, someone must have done a Linux port to a big-endian machine. I can't imagine there isn't a 68k version out there. To quote that mouthwash ad: "I hate it, but I use it - twice a day." Many of us use them only when necessary. "Necessary" meaning having a job. The bulk of our customers insist on running Windows boxes, so I've had to learn how to make my programs run (or rather, despite) Windows. That's not to say that we don't have a few SCO UNIX systems out there, and I regularly compile under Linux in case someone ever decides to go there - but like most of us, Windows is something I didn't choose but have to deal with. You don't need Windows for that stuff. Omigod, you're using LookOut! Excess for e-mail when there are so many good (and safe!) Unix alternatives? And I still edit my source code (and this message) on my trusty Amiga. Use the good stuff when you can, the bad when you must. What ever happened to Tandem and NonStop OS 2006 Don Chibutton Well, yes. I don't think we disagree. Unfortunately, many managers are reluctant to let contracts that do not promise to deliver a defined product... -- I'm really at ac.dekanfrus if you read it the right way.
