Of course the problem isn't really with X at all; it's with "Z" that's being used by "X" (as a database engine) and "Z" is supported-certified on platform "Y"
Basically; "support" for "X" feels it much better to fob off a query on some pretext because they're too lazy-incompetent-greedy to investigate the problem.
