Where is balance Academic priorities 298
Of course. If there was a perfect system out there that had all the problems solved, we'ld be using it. :-) I never encountered the first until 10th grade(US) and didn't get to point 2, 3, and 4 until college. The first time I heard the word calculus was when I was told it was the first math course to take in college. I was not allowed access to books. You were very lucky. Now note that the reason I made an objection is because you may have never encountered the concepts of axioms, postulates, and proofs until it was too late to make a lasting impression in thinking. Because you went to school and endured that boredom, you encountered an objective method of thinking in your early formative years. It is a f***ing struggle to undo bad thinking even when you're 16 years old. No, they're not. Going to school, even though it was boring, was 500% better than working in the fields. My mother was not allowed to go to high school because she was girl. The only reason she went to grade school (1-8th grades) was because the law said so. If there hadn't been a law, she and her sisters wouldn't have had any schooling. Home schooling is a very dangerous step towards regressing back to this. Where is balance Academic priorities 301 i have restricted followups to afc snip-- the children subject to it might like a system that emphasized what they were interested in, but no one asks them mebbe children... work. immensely Do you think you would have worked as hard when you were a child and the teacher demanded that you work hard? Or could you have been a late starter? BAH Where is balance Academic priorities 299 snip-- qui bono ? i suppose one must first decide on what the schools are supposed to do, who they are supposed to benefit. snip-- that must have been terrible i dont know what... Subtract a hundred and four for e-mail.
